What type of string should I use for tennis?

Just as different sizes and weights of tennis rackets produce different playing experiences, various types of tennis strings also create different spin when the ball makes contact with them. When choosing strings for your tennis rackets, there are four factors to consider: power, control, spin, and comfort.

Control

The string also defines the residence time of the ball in the bed of the string. Control strings are perfect for experienced players who know how to use their own power and control where the ball is going. Control strings are usually made of polyester and in many cases nylon. You can buy tennis racket strings from leading brands like Babolat, Yonex, Tecnifibre, Dunlop, and Softee.

Force

The power of the strings determine how fast the ball leaves the bed of strings after making contact. Junior players whose muscles are not fully developed use the strings which help improve strength and control. The power strings are made from natural gut, synthetic and nylon materials.

Comfort

Comfort is defined as the amount of impact the string produces when it makes contact with the ball. Comfort strings are best for senior players. Comfort springs are made of flexible materials such as nylon.

Spin

The twist defines how much radiation a string generates per minute when it makes contact with the ball. Spinning strings are ideal for competitive players who want to make it difficult for the opponent to bounce the ball.
